Princesshay centre gets a new Skyline

Alumasc has provided a perfect solution to a complex architectural challenge at the Princesshay shopping centre in Exeter with their versatile fascia system, Skyline.

Alumasc Skyline fascia coping was used extensively in conjunction with the company's soffit system to form eaves in the prestigious new development The flexible design capabilities of the system were also utilised to line and define the window openings, illustrating the striking exterior effects that can be created with Skyline

In view of the complexity of the project, extensive liaison was called for between the architect, Chapman Taylor Associates, contractor, Sir Robert McAlpine, Alumasc approved installer, Salmon Plumbing of Ottershaw, and Alumasc's technical design team, who were instrumental in providing over 100 drawings to ensure that the materials supplied would achieve the complicated angles involved.

The Princesshay development also made use of Alumasc's innovative Flushjoint rainwater downpipe system.

Flushjoint avoids the use of traditional male/female sockets when joining runs of pipe or pipe/fittings.

Fixings are made through concealed spigots, which preserves the smooth visual appearance and brings an attractive contemporary detail to modern buildings.

Flushjoint is available in round or square profiles, with a range of complementary fittings and in 16 standard powder-coat colours.

Unpainted and special colours can be accommodated.

Like all Alumasc aluminium products, Flushjoint, Skyline and Eavesline are 100% recyclable.

The Skyline system is also designed to be used with Alumasc's GX range of extruded aluminium gutters.

Together, they provide a fully integrated eaves/drainage package and a variety of fascia configurations may be achieved through the use of either the company's Eavesline soffit panels to project direct from the elevation, or soffit planks to provide eaves overhangs of varying depth.

Powder coated at the factory, the Skyline system has minimal maintenance demands and is warranted for 25 years - ensuring lifecycle economy and peace of mind. Request a free brochure from Alumasc Exterior Building Products ...
