Ness Botanic Gardens has chosen an Alumasc Zinco extensive green-roof system to create an environmentally friendly roof for its visitor centre.

As well as the ecological benefits, the roof provides protection to the waterproofing and significantly reduces water run off, which in turn lessens the risk of flooding.

The 600m2 roof also features Alumasc's Derbigum warm-roof waterproofing system.

Derbigum was chosen for its long-term performance and because it could accommodate the water-retention levels required within the Zinco green-roof build up.

Derbigum, a BBA-certified, tough, flexible, composite sheet, combines longevity with ease of application for structural decks.

Suited for flat roofs built to warm-roof configuration, it can accommodate all categories of Alumasc's Zinco Green Roof from extensive, semi-intensive and intensive planting schemes.
