Alumasc Hydrotech waterproofing for Glasgow tower
Hydrotech MM6125 structural waterproofing from Alumasc has been selected for a landmark building in a major regeneration project in Glasgow.
Anderston Phase 5 is a mixed-use development from Taylor Wimpey, and comprises seven floors of office space and a 20-storey residential apartment block, built on the former Anderston Bus Station site.
The Anderston regeneration project in Glasgow incorporates Hydrotech MM6125 structural waterproofing from Alumasc
Forming part of the fifth and largest construction phase of the Anderston regeneration project, the 'L' shaped building dominates the Glasgow skyline.
Alumasc approved installer BriggsAmasco was active in the specification of Hydrotech MM6125.
Hydrotech MM6125 was recommended as a durable, cost effective alternative to mastic asphalt, which also offered the benefit of not requiring a screed.
BriggsAmasco installed a total of 2,500m of Hydrotech MM6125 over the ballasted protected roof areas.
Hydrotech is a self-healing monolithic waterproofing membrane which was the first hot-melt waterproofing system to be introduced to the UK construction market.
The system boasts a respected performance record spanning 45 years, for use on protected roofs, plaza decks, green roofs, water features or access roadways.
Hydrotech's formulation guarantees lifetime performance.
It is manufactured using 20 per cent post-consumer recycled material and is supplied under Alumasc's ISO 14001:2004 Environmental Management Standard.
The system is fully warranted, BBA approved and has European Technical Approval ETA-05/0152.
