AL-Vac 1600 Lux models offer fast and precise pick-up and laying of flagstones, paving slabs, kerbstones, blocks and other compact, heavy loads.

In the construction industry, manual handling is recognised as a major risk to the health of workers, with 'slow' injuries resulting from wear and tear on the musculosketetal system over months and years of heavy work As one of the UK's leading suppliers of vacuum lifting equipment, AL-Vac has the experience and technical expertise to help businesses and local authorities address this problem

The AL-Vac 1600 Lux, powered by either a diesel or petrol engine, has a lifting capacity of up to 160kg.

Both models offer fast and precise pick-up and laying of flagstones, paving slabs, kerbstones, blocks and other compact, heavy loads.

Offering complete versatility, the 1600 Lux can be fitted to a range of host vehicles, including forklift trucks, telehandlers or purpose-built trailers, to ensure successful use in many diverse applications and environments.

A recent development has enhanced the operating safety of the AL Vac 1600 Lux.

The company has introduced an innovative 'flexible post', which can be mechanically adjusted so that it remains vertical for safe and reliable operation when working on uneven ground, steep gradients or cambers.

Colin Harper, director of AL-Vac, says "The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) has worked for many years to reduce the unacceptably high number of manual handling injuries in the construction industry".

"With its stated intention to enforce stringent regulations governing manual handling, the use of mechanical lifting equipment is set to become even more widespread".

"Not only has the AL-Vac 1600 Lux been developed as a tough workhorse, it is also an ergonomic and efficient solution to the growing problem of back injuries caused by poor manual handling".

AL-Vac can also offer an industrial range of vacuum lifting equipment which includes floor-, ceiling- and vehicle-mounted lifters for many diverse applications.

Offering a wide choice of different reaches and lifting capacities from 300kg to 5 tonnes, AL-Vac's latest generation of vacuum lifting equipment has been designed to be both ultra safe and reliable.
