IDS uses Ambirad units and Airbloc air curtains

An Ambirad - Airbloc product story

IDS Logistics, which stores a range of textiles and beauty products for various companies, uses Ambirad warm-air units and Airbloc air curtains to maintain a suitable temperature within its warehouse.

Boxed products are stored in racks on the ground and mezzanine floors until being shipped out to distribution centres nationwide.

Within the building, warmth is supplied by 18 Ambirad gas-fired warm-air units, which circulate heat evenly around the building.

The Airbloc air curtains, positioned over external doorways, allow the doors to remain open with relatively little detriment to internal comfort conditions or energy usage.

The air curtains deliver a sheet of ambient air across the doorway, which effectively blocks the transit of cold air from outside while preventing internal warmed air from escaping.

Anticipated reduction in energy loss from the open doorway is up to 80 per cent.

The heating is controlled centrally by a Vickers computerised management system that maintains a constant 16C during the warehouse's 24-hour operation.
