Aluminium in new homes
AM Profiles complete new development designed by CAD Associates of Lincoln for Stamford Homes which effectively uses aluminium curtain walling, windows and doors in a low rise residential application.
Their ultra-slim 'Kayewall 46', a curtain wall system with a 46mm wide sight line dimension, was used to stunning effect on the top floor penthouses to offer residents uninterrupted views of Canary Wharf.
Whilst the slim sight lines of the curtain wall maximises the glazed area, the system also accepts a range of other products such as the aluminium AMTHERM balcony doors to the East elevation.
Complementing the curtain wall system AM Profiles AMTHERM Casement windows were fabricated in to composite windows with fixed lights in order to achieve a large open aspect to the South facing apartments.
There has been a significant increase in the last few years in use the of aluminium windows systems in such high rise residential applications where superior aesthetics are required.
Aluminium profiles can be polyester powder coated in a wide range of colours which offers excellent weathering, whilst inside profiles can be powder coated in an alternative colour to suit the internal decor.
Syte Architectural are installers of AM Profiles' products as their aluminium systems offer both strength and slim sight lines.
AM Profiles systems are tested for sound attenuation which is often higher than that of other materials, a point which was relevant when the development was in its design stages due to the proximity to the A11 trunk road.
UK based AM Profiles offer a wide range of timber and aluminium composite systems as well as a complete suite of aluminium profiles which include both open out and open in systems specifically developed for the UK market.
More information on their systems can be found on their website.
