'Secured by Design' licence for AM Profiles
AM Profiles have become one of the first companies offering aluminium and timber composite windows, doors and curtain walling, to attain 'Secured by Design' standard.
Research has shown that using products which meet the technical specification laid down in the 'Secured by Design' standard, burglary can be reduced by up to 50% and reduce criminal damage by 25%.
Incorporating products which meet and exceed the standard not only reduces insurance premiums over time but also offers the property owner peace of mind regarding potential criminal activity.
Now in its ninth year, the Secured by Design standard now incorporates products used in home improvement and commercial premises.
AM Profiles have become one of the first companies offering aluminium and timber composite windows, doors and curtain walling, to attain a licence following their recent product tests.
Products currently carrying the standard are - the ALARBOND aluminium timber composite top swing reversible, the Polyamide Series 24 aluminium top swing reversible and the ALARCLAD aluminium PVCu composite top swing reversible.
All products are available in either fabricated and bar length form from AM Profiles production facility in Chesterfield.
Security has long been a highly regarded design objective for AM Profiles who have always designed in high performance and substantial hardware for their product ranges.
Having supplied many public and private housing associations, local authorities and commercial properties security is paramount alongside good looks and ease of operation.
The new Design-5 system, launched at Interbuild, and existing ALARBOND composite window systems have been designed specifically to meet the enhanced security specification laid down in BS7950:1997.
As an ISO9001:2000 registered company and with Factory Production Control, both audited by BRE, customers can expect production quality to match those of the successful test samples.
Currently the new Design-5 range of composite products are undergoing testing and will soon be offered under the Secured by Design licence in both fabricated and system supply.
