Vision radiant heating system reduce running costs

An Ambi-Rad product story

Reduced running costs are just one of the benefits of installing high efficiency Vision radiant tube heaters from AmbiRad at Gardner Denver Nash's Winsford, Cheshire, premises - the company's main UK servicing centre for industrial pumps.

After 20-years of continual use, an existing radiant system had ceased to function effectively in heating the large space building.

Even at full operation it could not adequately heat the premises yet consumed a considerable amount of gas every year.

Cost predictions on replacement heating indicated that a high efficiency radiant tube system, zoned across the building, would have a significant impact on comfort as well as economy and future operating costs.

In all aspects of economy, effectiveness, comfort and zoning capability, AmbiRad Vision answered the end user's requirements.

Vision is the latest high efficiency radiant tube heater from AmbiRad.

The range has one of the highest radiant efficiency ratings for radiant tube heaters, and is the only range of its kind listed on the government's Energy Technology Listing, making it eligible for Enhanced Capital Allowances.

A total of 8 VSX radiant tube heaters with 50kW output were installed over two bays where heavy engineering work is carried out.

Each bay has two heating zones to allow complete flexibility of heating only those areas being actively used during shifts, thereby improving the heaters' efficient running even further.

The heaters are controlled by an AmbiRad SmartCom control panel which automatically ensures optimum economy.

However, when it came to installation, there was a problem.

The burners could not be flued through the roof because of the potential for releasing asbestos dust when the roof penetrations were made.

To avoid this, MandE contractor Gradwood of Stockport provided a thermal evacuation system to exhaust the products of combustion to atmosphere through specific high and low level ventilation outlets in the walls, without the need for flueing.

The Vision system operates very effectively, meeting all the comfort and economy requirements of the client.
