AMX delivers innovative room scheduling and AV distribution for world leading investment bank.

An AMX control solution, running the company's MeetingManager room scheduling and equipment monitoring/management software and utilising Endeleo TV distribution technology, has provided one of the world's leading investment banks with the most innovative room management and audio visual distribution system in the banking sector The system is integrated into all of the bank's boardroom and meeting rooms, which each feature a single AMX touch screen panel interface to provide fingertip control of all of the room's AV sources, along with lighting, electric blinds and other room controls

MeetingManager interfaces with the bank's central reservations team, who allocate and book rooms for the many meetings held in the building throughout the day.

When a meeting is scheduled to start in a particular room, the electronic signage outside the room is automatically updated by the system with the relevant details of who is in the meeting.

If required the signs can also display company logos or other personalised graphics.

MeetingManager also constantly monitors all of the equipment in the rooms so that any malfunction or removal of any equipment will immediately be alerted to the relevant support team, who are able to respond as required.

The touch panels in the rooms are designed to be entirely intuitive, enabling any user, no matter how unfamiliar with the technology, to easily and simply navigate through the various menus and operate all of the room's devices and equipment.

The panels also feature a OEhelp' button, which the user can use to request help from the support team, for example, if there is a problem with the equipment.

Each meeting room is also equipped with a web cam that relays pictures to the support team, so that they can see what is happening in the room.

The web cam can be easily switched off by the room users by pressing a OEprivacy' button on the touch panel.

To avoid interruptions to meetings service staff, such as caterers, are able to alert the presenter or meeting chairman of their presence by pressing a call button located outside the room.

This flashes a message on the touch panel screen, enabling the meeting chairman to call them in or wait for a suitable break in proceedings.

A range of AMX touch screen panels are used to operate the system, depending on the room and requirement.

For example, small meeting rooms feature 7 Modero panels, the boardroom has a 12 panel and main control areas utilise larger, 15 panels to enable them to display the detail of information required.

In addition to controlling the meeting rooms and audiovisual equipment, the AMX system provides a further function for the bank.

That is control of the real time distribution of TV signals over the category 5 cable network by means of the Endeleo TV distribution system.

This means, for example, that anybody in the bank including the dealers can get live TV and video feeds directly to their screens and access OEon demand' content from QuickTime streaming servers.

This capability is also used to deliver company-wide business updates, CEO briefings and staff training.

Founded in 1982, AMX Corporation, a subsidiary of Duchossois Industries, is a worldwide leader in advanced control and automation technology for commercial and residential markets.
