Andersen Launches Woodwright - Fibrex Windows
Andersen Windows has launched a new window range made from Fibrex, a revolutionary new material with the strength of natural wood and the low maintenance of PVC-u.
Although traditional in appearance, the new Woodwright range of windows incorporates Fibrex - a revolutionary new window material with the strength of natural wood and the low maintenance of PVC-u.
Made from a patented blend of reclaimed pine wood fibre bonded with a specially formulated thermoplastic polymer, FibrexR not only delivers a strength, rigidity, and thermal performance equal to wood, and a stability superior to wood, but it even has the appearance of natural wood.
Each wood fibre is coated with polymer making it is resistant to flaking, blistering, peeling, cracking and corrosion so that, like PVC-u, there is no need for painting or regular maintenance.

Conservation areas get sliding sash windows
The new Woodwright made-to-measure sliding sash from Andersen Windows is becoming an increasingly popular choice of window for architects working in conservation areas in the UK.
The Fibrex technology, incorporated into the new Archtop, Springline and Unequal Leg Arch sash windows, helps to create state-of-the-art high performance windows with architecturally inspired aesthetics.
Carefully crafted, Fibrex sashes, available in both equal and cottage styles, which tilt inwards for safe and easy cleaning; mortise and tenon-styled joints instead of unsightly welded corners; traditional chamfered check rails; a range of high definition external glazing bar options; and a choice of pine, oak, maple and pre-finished white interior finishes, all add to the authentic appeal.
Exterior colours include a choice of: white, Sandtone (a neutral beige), Terratone (an earth colour) and forest green to complement the design, or landscape.
"This extended WoodwrightT range will allow house builders to offer their customers high performance, low maintenance products, with an enhanced design flexibility that will appeal to builders and end users alike," said Jim Lawrie, Chief Executive of Black Millwork, distributor for Andersen Windows in the UK and Ireland.
With the range available in made-to-measure and standard brick sizes, the new Woodwright styles are ideal for both new build and refurbishment projects.
As with all Andersen windows and patio doors, the Woodwight range comes with soft coat low E, argon filled double glazing, as standard, and is fully compliant with Part L of the Building Regulations.
Additional glazing options include high performance, reinforced and tinted sun glass.
