Anderson launch new venture - Regenerate
Regenerate will specialise in land acquisition and challenging regeneration projects.
Anderson Group launched their ninth specialist company, Regenerate, at this year's Thames Gateway Forum (28th - 29th November 2007).
Regenerate comprises a multidisciplinary team of Directors, Patricia Gillis, Steven Gough and Stuart Wilson, who combine 70 years experience in key areas of the development industry from planning to technical.
By launching the new company and pooling the skills and resources of the Group, Anderson are well placed to deal with Gordon Brown's recent three year plan for the Thames Gateway regeneration announced on Thursday 29th.
"Although we support the ethos behind Gordon Brown's plans for 160,000 new homes, 80% of which will be on brownfield sites, we don't believe that the industry really understands, or is comfortable with taking on the challenges and risks involved in the development of brownfield sites".
"As we see it, the challenge posed by redevelopment is in realising the true value of land.
Problems only tend to arrive out of the pursuit of inappropriate solutions.
We have such a diverse and specialist set of expertise that as a Group, we can not only acquire land that other developers may deem too risky but ensure that its value is optimised to its full potential.
"To date, other players in the industry have approached brownfied regeneration by cherry picking easy wins".
"However if the industry is to deliver the on Mr Brown's plans for the Thames Gateway region, and indeed to solve the urgent requirement for housing throughout the rest the country, developers need to change their approach and mindset and be prepared to take on all the challenges of brownfield development," says Steve Evans, the Groups CEO.
Anderson Group has 20 years experience in the industry providing services ranging from site remediation to construction waste management and recycling through to the delivery of well-designed, sustainable developments and urban regeneration schemes including Tavy Bridge, part of the Thames Gateway regeneration.
It is their specialist skills that enable the Anderson Group to offer partners in the public and private sector the benefit of tapping into a streamlined procurement process, which can manage risk effectively and ultimately, reduce costs.
Anderson work hard at establishing links and working relationships with local councils, statutory bodies and other like minded organisations dedicated to regeneration, in order to deliver well designed homes that meet the needs of the local community and the environment at large.
