Adaptive Wireless Solutions have supplied a wireless sensor network solution to a major electricity distribution company to enable remote condition monitoring.

Following a successful short term trial the customer is now embarking on longer term field trials to investigate remote condition monitoring and asset management and maintenance Adaptive were called in after a previous trial had to be abandoned after the monitoring equipment became unavailable

Wireless sensor networks look set to revolutionise condition monitoring of equipment because they overcome the main obstacle with existing approaches - the cost of field wiring.

The Sensicast products which Adaptive supply provide a complete end to end solution including sensor nodes, routing nodes to reliably transport data through the network and gateway nodes for linking into existing monitoring infrastructure.
