Apollo Fire Detectors has extended its AlarmSense range of conventional fire detectors and alarm products by adding a new Sounder Base, an updated Relay Module and a Sounder Beacon Base.

AND ALARM RANGE FOR HMOs Apollo Fire Detectors has extended its AlarmSense range of conventional fire detectors and alarm products by adding a new Sounder Base, an updated Relay Module and a Sounder Beacon Base The new products have been introduced to make AlarmSense even more applicable to the requirements of houses of multiple occupation (HMOs)

Indeed, the entire AlarmSense range has been designed to enable compliance with BS5839 Part 6, the UK Code of Practice for the design, installation and maintenance of fire detection and fire alarm systems in dwellings.

The AlarmSense range comprises smoke and heat detectors, manual call points and alarm devices.

The new products are connected to the same pair of wires as the detectors themselves.

This makes installation quicker, less expensive and more flexible.

It is this flexibility and cost-effectiveness that has made AlarmSense a popular choice in multiple occupation applications.

The new Sounder Base can be wired to the same point as a detector and is capable of sounding a local alarm so that an incident in one dwelling, such as burning toast, can be dealt with by the occupant without raising a general evacuation.

The sounder allows two minutes for a local alert to clear before switching to a full alarm throughout the building.

It uses entirely different sounds for the local and general alarms so that there is no possibility of confusion.

The Sounder Beacon Base offers all the features of the new Sounder Base detailed above, with the addition of high intensity red LEDs that flash once per second in the event of an alarm.

The visual confirmation aids compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and helps to confirm which devices have gone into alarm.

The Relay Module has been updated so that it is compatible with the new sounder.

The Module enables devices such as standard conventional sounders and beacons to be connected to the fire detection system, allowing building owners and other responsible persons to comply with the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA).

The AlarmSense range also features patented technology to ensure maximum efficiency.

RemovAlert informs the control panel if a detector is removed from its base, which aids maintenance and reduces incidents of malicious interference.

A SynchroPulse feature enables pulsing sounders to be synchronised when they are in alarm.

Other features include failsafe operation of manual call points when detectors are removed, zonal fire tracking and alarm indication and the ability to disable detectors and call points separately.

Because of its patented two-wire technology, the AlarmSense range of products must be used with a control panel specifically designed to be compatible with the range.

Full details of the AlarmSense range and compatible control panels are available by contacting Apollo's Technical Sales Department.
