Stewart Milne Group has installed 8,000 m2 of Roofshield breather membrane on the new Forensic Psychiatric Unit at the Stobhill Hospital Glasgow.

Working in association with the main contractor Balfour Beatty Construction, Stewart Milne Group of Aberdeen has installed 8,000 m2 of Roofshield breather membrane on the new Forensic Psychiatric Unit at the Stobhill Hospital Glasgow.

One of the leading manufacturers of Timber Framed buildings in the UK, Stewart Milne Group have to be sure that the breather membrane they use will perform to the highest specification.

Roofshield has an unrivalled pedigree when used in roof applications.

It is the highest performing S.M.S (spunbond-meltblown-spunbond) vapour permeable roof underlay available on the market today.

It has excellent water hold out properties and carries two British Board of Agrement Certificates for use in warm (BBA96/3220) and cold (BBA99/3648) pitched roofs without the need for provision of expensive ventilation to the roof-space.

A moisture vapour permeability of 2409 g/m2/day and water vapour resistance of 0.09MNs/g with the added benefit of air permeability confirms its high performance.

Roofshield is compatible with the main types of timber treatments used today.

It does not suffer from the wind noise problems associated with other lighter weight breather membranes.

For ease of handling Roofshield is available in roll size 50m x 1m.
