Cost effective, easy to deploy flood defence solution joins leading portfolio of flood defence products.

Total Flood Solutions, the leading provider of full property flood protection solutions in the UK has added the innovative Norwegian designed semi-mobile, demountable flood defence barrier, AquaFence, to its extensive portfolio AquaFence is a proven system designed for large areas at risk of repeated flooding

It is generally used away from property, for river banks and sea defence, although its flexible design means an AquaFence flood barrier can be used almost anywhere, for instance in gateways.

Its specific use for creating flood barriers in the range of just a few metres up to kilometres long allows Total Flood Solutions to enhance its existing range of products for property protection with a product aimed at protecting, for instance, farms, whole streets and towns.

AquaFence has already been installed in several flood risk areas across Europe and the United States and with continuing concern in the UK over flood preparedness, the latest weapon in Total Flood Solutions' arsenal can help local government, emergency organisations, businesses, utilities and residents to win the fight against flooding.

"There are many types of flood that all require different methods of protection so we pride ourselves on the breadth of property protection solutions that we are able to offer," comments Neil McDermid, Total Flood Solutions.

"AquaFence will extend our offering even further as it gives us the opportunity to offer a solution for the protection of large flood risk areas, and is ideal for cost-effectively raising sea defences by up to 1.8 metres".

An AquaFence flood wall is made up of 2 metre long and 1.2 to 1.8 metre high AquaFence elements.

These elements are quickly and easily put into place prior to a flood event and are just as easy to remove and store.

An AquaFence installation can be fortified by a small, unobtrusive foundation and a specially developed seal that mitigates water ingress between AquaFence elements and the ground ensures confidence that AquaFence will work even under immense water pressure.

"With AquaFence as part of our property protection offering, we are now able to offer a complete package to councils and agencies looking for long-term demountable flood protection".

"It is the perfect solution for securing sea defences, river banks and flood plains at risk of repeated flooding and we're expecting it to be a popular solution as emergency preparedness becomes a top priority for authorities charged with protecting large areas from flooding," concludes McDermid.
