Polypin, Architectural Supplies' launch a new range of polymer headed pins and nails. Polypin products are tested on a calibrated rig that drops a 1.92Kg weight from graduated heights.

Architectural Supplies' Rapierstar range has rapidly established a reputation for impeccable presentation, technical superiority and, above all, performance that delivers everything claimed of it Polypin, the company's new range of polymer headed pins and nails, is clearly set to follow suit

There's no doubt packaging and point of sale material have the 'impact' befitting a product that 'loves getting hammered.' Sales Manager Steve Piggott, who joined the company to launch the new range, is clear, though, it is performance that will delight contractors and assure repeat distributor sales.

Steve's own experience in the product sector meant he was the first person who needed to be absolutely sure Polypins would deliver.

"It's no good making the move, even to a company with the reputation of Architectural Supplies, " he said, " if the product is going to leave you with egg on your face." "Impact resistance of the head is the most important performance issue for any user," explains Steve.

Polypin products are tested on a calibrated rig that drops a 1.92Kg weight from graduated heights.

Polypin heads remained intact after a drop test from 450mm and in repeat tests the product sustained no less than five impacts before the polymer head showed any sign of deformation.

By comparison the heads on leading UK and imported brands deformed after a single impact from 400mm, and in one sample disintegrated after a single drop from no more than 250mm.

In choosing a polymer that stands up to a real hammering, Architectural Supplies has also made sure the range, available in white, brown, light-oak and black, has excellent UV stability.

Both 2.0mm pin and 3.35mm nail shanks are manufactured in A4 stainless steel to eliminate the risk of corrosion in application, which could result in ugly and costly to rectify rust stains.

Shank rings are also meticulously formed to ensure the 'Christmas tree effect' angular profile that guarantees outstanding pullout resistance.

"Just looking at Polypins you can tell how much sharper the profiles are," says Steve, "but we're always happy to demonstrate their muscle!".
