Ardex UK's comprehensive rendering and tile fixing system was specified for use on the refurbishment of the A13 Maud Street Underpass project in Canning Town, London Regular advocates of Ardex products, Cerface Construction Products of Gillingham, Kent, were commissioned to carry out the rendering and tiling

Work commenced with the concrete approach walkways being shot blasted clean prior to the application of Ardurit AM100 fast track tiling render.

This unique one coat tiling render allows tiles to be fixed just two hours after application, a time saving of two weeks compared to traditional render.

The 700m2 of tiles were fixed onto the hardened Ardurit AM100 with Ardu-Flex 5001 grey flexible tile adhesive that provides the durability required in such demanding environments.

The built-in admix, user-friendly working properties and excellent adhesion to all tile types including porcelain and fully vitrified ensures uncompromising performance with every application.

The tile joints were then grouted using Ardu-Flex FL grey rapid setting flexible grout which offers beneficial features including a built-in admix and enhanced water and weather resistance.

'The Ardex tiling and fast track render system provided the expected levels of performance, which assisted us in completing this project ten days ahead of the ten week schedule, and yet again, the Ardex/Cerface partnership exceeded our clients expectations', said Chris Clark of Cerface.
