When the Colman Hospital in Norwich had a 1000m2 flooring refurbishment project to complete, ARDEX teamed up with Lees Flooring Limited of Norwich and together, they specified a duo of compatible ARDEX products that would prove perfect for the job.
One of the key requirements of the specification was to ensure a discreet installation process that would allow the hospital to remain open and ensure that staff and patients would not be subjected to unnecessary disruption.
The project was in Caroline House, a separate building within the hospital where all of its corridors, day rooms and 20 bedrooms required refurbishment.
To commence, the existing floor surface was pre-smoothed with ARDEX's multi-award winning latex smoothing compound ARDITEX.
Ideal for virtually all types of commercial flooring applications, ARDITEX is used for the smoothing of cement/sand and concrete screeds, metal, quarry tiles, asphalt flooring (grade 1), granolithic or terrazzo floors prior to applying the floorcovering.
The Gerflor Metallica floorcovering was then installed using ARDEX AF 100 Pressure Sensitive Acrylic Flooring Adhesive.
Specifically designed for the UK flooring market and incorporating the latest floorcovering adhesives technology, ARDEX AF 100 is the ideal adhesive for all types of PVC/Vinyl floorcoverings.
With high yield, low odour and its suitability for use with underfloor heating ARDEX AF 100 proved ideal for the demanding hospital environment.
