West Cumberland Hospital gets the Ardex treatment
Ardex worked with flooring contractors TT Flooring of Workington, who were commissioned to install the floorcoverings for the refurbished West Cumberland Hospital.
When the shopping centre floor required refurbishment it was essential that a fast track, cost effective flooring solution was specified to ensure that the commercially important shopping hours would not be disrupted.
The solution was to use Ardex A 35 Rapid Drying Cement for Floor Screeds, which has a successful record in retail environments thanks to key benefits including fast track performance, cost effectiveness and ease of use.
Implementing an overnight installation programme, over 200 tonnes of Ardex A 35 was applied throughout the walkways to provide a sub-floor that would deliver a strong, flat and level surface.
Thanks to the built-in Ardex Rapidry Formula Technology, the Ardex A 35 screed surface was hard enough to be walked on only 3 hours after application and had dried to enable further work after just 24 hours.
A wait of at least a month would have been required before a standard cement/sand screed would be hard and dry enough for further work to proceed.
"It was vital that we provided MetroCentre with a fast track sub-floor installation that would guarantee the early laying of final floorcoverings".
"By working with Ardex we could deliver these assurances to our client, as their reputation within the retail sector is second to none and, put quite simply, when under pressure Ardex is the manufacturer to trust", enthused Barry Hunter of DPC Screeding. Request a free brochure from Ardex UK ...
