Armitage Shanks, leaders in providing quality cost-effective bathroom solutions for housing, has exhibited examples of its extensive product range at the 2006 CIH exhibition.
The exhibition was the ideal opportunity for Armitage Shanks to share its expertise in relation to current housing issues, such as the new HMO licensing.
This year houses in multiple occupation (HMOs) will see new licensing come into force which could have a major impact on the washing facilities installed.
If the proposed regulations are enforced, in order to obtain a HMO license all houses which have five or more occupants will have to include a separate WC and washbasin (for every five people) and a washbasin in each room (i.e.occupied unit).
This has caused concern due to the space and cost implications of installing additional sanitaryware.
A number of solutions were demonstrated in the ranges displayed by Armitage Shanks at the CIH exhibition.
Both the Camargue and Sandringham ranges are extremely good value for money, coming in at under £500 for an entire suite.
Each collection also features a small hand rinse basin.
The Sandringham hand rinse basin (pictured right) has a projection of just 375mm, taking up a very small amount of space in the room.
The excessive use of water is another hot issue, especially in the South East of England.
Armitage Shanks has a number of products designed to encourage efficient use of water.
The Sandringham SL basin mixer features the ingenious Click Cartridge, a device that creates a resistance when the lever is lifted to let the user know when the tap is at 50% flow - adequate for hand washing.
The lever must be pushed past this point to reach full flow.
All Armitage Shanks WC cisterns are available with a dual flush system, with an option of flushing at just 4 litres, compared to the 9 and even 13 litre flushing cisterns still in use in many homes.
Tony Rheinberg, Armitage Shanks Commercial Manager comments; "Armitage Shanks is a well-established brand with a reputation for good product at reasonable prices and the brand remains very successful in the housing sector".
"To maintain this reputation it is important that we keep in-touch with the latest issues and regulations and ensure our products assist housing associations, local authorities and landlords meet what is required of them.
