Over 600 businesses in the North of England attended the most innovative and exciting show of its kind at the Doncaster Race Course Exhibition Centre on 3rd and 4th September.

Arco, the leading Uk supplier of health and safety equipment and workwear, staged the Arco Experience, a two-day event alive with ideas and product innovations from over 40 of the world's top brands in safety equipment and workwear.

Three separate zones - 'Feel Good', 'Look Good' and 'Be Safe' - gave more than 500 visitors a day direct access to world-class safety experts and a huge variety of new products featured in the Arco product catalogue: The Big Book.

Catering for the occupational health and safety requirements of all public and private sectors from manufacturing and construction through to transport and distribution, the food industry and the emergency services; demonstrations of head to toe protection, environmental safety equipment and stylish new workwear coincided with free presentations and workshops from the Arco training partners: the British Safety Council, RoSPA, RBS Mentor Services and Sypol.

Visitor John Selkirk, Quality Manager for Metalysis, an RandD company based in Rotherham, commented, "I am astounded by the range of safety products and services that Arco offers.

The support from the suppliers and the amount of equipment on display is phenomenal.

As a result of attending one of the seminars on stress in the workplace, I have just signed up for a training course.

It's been an extremely useful day".

Exhibitors including Centurion, 3M, Sperian, Moldex, Ansell, BM Polyco, Marigold, Deb, Forth Systems and Wallace Cameron enjoyed the opportunity to get head to head with a host of customers and Arco colleagues.

John Williams from Marigold Industrial said, "It's enabled us to train Arco people and educate customers in how our new auditing tool kit can be used to help during the risk assessment process quantifying hazards, such as thermal, chemical, grip and cut.

It's been a very productive and fun event for us, we've been able to meet lots of customers in a relaxed environment and great venue".

Elaina Harvey and Neil Sutherland from DuPont Personal Protection agreed that this year's exhibition was the best yet from Arco.

"Thanks to introductions from Arco account managers to new and existing customers who purchase our products through Arco, we've had several good sales leads.

The event organisation has been excellent and we have been extremely busy".

WORKWEAR FASHION SHOW.

Catwalk scenes at intervals throughout the exhibition presented the newest ranges of workwear and fabric innovations from DuPont, Berghaus, Microgard, Moschatel, Roots and Skopes to name but a few.

Big brands in footwear included Sperian, Dr Martens, Goliath, Dunlop, Shoes for Crews and DeWalt.

Louise Cross, Specials Buyer for Arco, said that the new Arco range of ladies high visibility workwear with its flattering diagonal reflective strips had had unprecedented levels of interest, as had Arco drivers jackets and the new, stylish but rugged Carhartt range of workwear.

Thanking customers, Arco people, exhibitors and partners for their support, Thomas Martin, Arco Joint Managing Director, said: "Our mission is to help make work a better place.

It's not just our range of products that makes the difference.

It's the hard work and enterprise of our people, the strong relationships we have with the world's top manufacturers and the combined expertise that provides extra value for customers: this is what makes Arco the market leader".

Three more Arco Experiences will be held in September: in Glasgow, Manchester and Avonmouth.
