The historic Cabinet War Rooms in London have been delicately refurbished - with the help of a leading national timber merchant Arnold Laver Timber World supplied a range of timber products for the refitting of the prestigious museum project, situated in the basement of the Treasury building in Whitehall The Birmingham branch of Timber World, on Dudley Road, Oldbury, provided the museum shop fitters with American hardwood, MDF and laminate

The products were used to refit a variety of museum displays and exhibitions, helping to create a reproduction of the original Cabinet War Rooms.

Neil Wyatt, from Arnold Laver's Birmingham branch, said: "Arnold Laver Timber World was really honoured to be asked to supply products for such a prestigious renovation project.

"We were able to supply the museum fitters with an extensive range of quality wood types and finishes - providing them with exactly the right look for the Cabinet War Rooms." The Cabinet War Rooms, which include the Map Room, the Cabinet Room, Churchill's Room and the Transatlantic Telephone Room, were constructed in 1939.

They were designed as a secret underground shelter for the Prime Minister and his War Cabinet during the Second World War.
