ART VPS today announced the latest release of PURE - accelerated rendering hardware specifically designed to harness the core graphics technologies of Mac OS X and high performance of the Power Mac G5.

The new system employs a modular ray-tracing architecture that accelerates 3D rendering by distributing it across an array of chips.

Users can now generate full-frame previews in seconds and utilize advanced features that include multiple area lights, accurate 3D motion blur, secondary illumination, camera properties, and special RenderMan shaders.

"The Power Mac G5 delivers outstanding performance in graphics-intensive applications," said Brian Tyler, ART VPS CEO.

"When combined with our dedicated ray-tracing hardware and the excellent core graphics technologies in Mac OS X, PURE will be welcomed by any user who needs to generate high-quality, photorealistic images in record time." "We're thrilled ART VPS is now developing next-generation imaging hardware for the Mac OS X and Power Mac G5 platform," said Ron Okamoto, Apple's vice president of Worldwide Developer Relations.

"This powerful new PURE PCI card, combined with the latest Apple innovations, will deliver great ray-tracing and 3D graphics rendering." The latest generation of the PURE PCI card containing eight ART VPS AR350 ray-tracing processors is being demonstrated in booth #2345 at MacWorld 2005 in San Francisco.
