Whilst all adding to the intricacy of the final image, the further demands placed on their previous rendering solution meant that sometimes even test renders would fail.
Ben Addy, Director at Moxon commented, "One project for Italian furniture maker Tacchini required a number of chairs to be shown 'raining' on a piazza".
"The chairs are a particle system that is animated with full motion blur enabled therefore the required large amounts of data to be rendered".
"In early versions of the image we had to limit the number of chairs as even our 64-bit workstations couldn't complete the job", Addy continued, "As soon as we rendered it to renderserver we just kept adding chairs to the scene".
"In fact we only stopped where we did because we needed the image in the same afternoon - we could have had far more chairs in the sky if we had more time".
