This year APHCL's National Conference will be taking place between 15th and 17th June at one of Derbyshire's most prestigious hotels, The Palace Hotel, Buxton This wonderful location is going to be the setting for three days of important discussion and debate

No shortage of plumbers say APHCL
The plumbing skills shortage is over, says the Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors Limited (APHCL).
As well as an excellent line-up of presentations, meetings and forums, there will also be opportunities for members and non-members to network and meet business associates, colleagues, members, and friends at a number of social events.

New licensing scheme at Interbuild 2006
The Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors (APHCL) will be taking the opportunity to launch its new licensing scheme at Interbuild 2006.
APHC advice on Competent Persons Schemes
Association of Plumbing and Heating Contractors is advising the plumbing and heating industry to 'shop around' before signing-up to the first scheme available.
The Conference commences on the evening of Thursday 15th June with a Junior and Senior Vice President's Drinks Receptions and Past President's Dinner.
Business starts on Friday 16th June with the Regional Advisory Group Meetings and Forum.
Some of the items up for debate will include Industry Dynamics, The Construction Act, Training Standards and Needs for 2007-2012, Competent Persons Schemes and the Homebuyers Pack, APHCL's Five Year Strategy and APHCL Membership Benefits.
Clive Dickin went on to comment "We also have a number of important speakers attending".
"Rudy Klein, CEO of the SEC Group will be making a presentation on the current review of The Construction Act which came into force in May 1998 and has a direct bearing on commercial dealings".
"He will be focussing on two key parts of the legislation involving certainty of payment and what happens when a dispute occurs".
"Keith Marshall, Chief Executive of SummitSkills will be talking about their role and purpose within the plumbing and heating industry, and our own Technical Services Manager, John Thompson, will be speaking about the impact of Building Regulations, The Homebuyers Pack and Competent Persons Schemes".
Mr Dickin continued "I would like to thank all our sponsors as without their support we would be unable to hold the event".
"The Conference is being sponsored by Polypipe, BPEC, JIB, Abba Print Group, Yellow Pages, APHC Vehicle Services, APHC Insurance Services, and APHC Fuel Management".
The Conference will also include the launch of PlumbGuard, APHC Insurance Services' new business insurance, the Annual General Meeting of the Association's group of companies, and a social trip for spouses.
The Conference ends on the Saturday evening with the Gala Dinner Dance where Claire Curtis-Thomas, MP, Chairman of the All Party Plumbing Interests Group, and Chairman of the SEC Group's Plumbing Interest Group will be giving an after-dinner speech.
