Landmark rail project with the Asite platform
Asite's eCollaboration service is the number one choice for collaborative working for the public sector.
The Intercity Express Programme (IEP) is the most significant rolling stock investment programme in the UK for over 30 years.
The forward thinking initiative aims to develop, deliver and operate a new generation of trains to serve Britain's long-distance rail routes for at least the next 30 years.
The Department for Transport (DfT) has selected bidders who will be involved in an 18 month procurement process, to select a single supplier.
The complex procurement process means that there is a large volume of information and documentation, much of which is of a technical nature.
In order to control and manage the flow of information to and from the bidders the DfT opted to use Asite's eCollaboration service to open secure online "Data Rooms" for the bidders.
The eCollaboration "Data Rooms" enable the DfT to control and monitor access to documentation and provide notifications of updates.
The online viewer allows viewing of technical documents such as CAD Models without needing CAD installed on the user's PC.
The suppliers can also submit their pricing information and documentation in a secure online proforma.
Tony Ryan, Asite CEO, commented "We are delighted to welcome the Department for Transport as a new customer".
"Public clients such as the DfT do not have to tender to procure eCollaboration as the service is available via our Office of Government Commerce framework agreement".
