ATB launches security mesh for window and doors

An ATB Systems product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 26, 2010

ATB Systems is offering an anti-vandal mesh which gives a visual and physical deterrent without compromise on light transmission.

The mesh is applicable to its existing Taurus range, the new Taurus Max range of aluminium windows, its Shopline Commercial Doors and the robust social housing specification door suit.

The Anti Vandal meshed windows and doors are part of ATB's Secure range of products.

Not to be confused with retro fit mesh and frames that can stop or restrict light or the opening, the new mesh featured on the ATB window and door products incorporates the glass protection mesh as part of the integral profile.

This design results in clean lines, anti tamper performance and effective light transmittance of 60 per cent.

Externally the window or door appears to be glazed with a attractive bronze tinted glass which does not detract from the design of the building, but the mesh offers considerable protection against break ins and air rifle attack as well as being a visual deterrent.

Customers can specify the Anti Vandal mesh version of the Taurus, Taurus Max window suites or commercial door suites on vulnerable elevations and the standard products elsewhere, so giving a cohesive and harmonised look to the building as a whole.

Since the mesh is included as part of the extrusion, customers can also choose from a range of opening lights - top hung casement, bottom hung open in, tilt/turn, and the latest in the Taurus Max range, the parallel opener, which has been tested above the Secured by Design recognised STS202 BR2 Commercial security standard level.

The locking options available for each opening style have also been chosen to comply with BS 7950 enhanced security and STS202 Commercial standard security testing regimes.
