AT Jones delivers internal partitions for academy

An AT Jones product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Aug 13, 2010

AT Jones' Milton Keynes division has won its first major fit-out project for Willmott Dixon for the new build Ark Academy next to the Wembley National Stadium.

The scheme involves construction of infant, junior and secondary schools as well as sports facilities to house 1,600 pupils on the site.

AT Jones, part of the HSi Interiors Group, is working on all the interior partitioning and ceilings for the three and four storey secondary school building, the double height sports building, the two storey primary and nursery schools.

The majority of the internal partitions and linings have been constructed using a Fermacell system, this was necessary as installation started before the external envelope of the building was weather tight.

Acoustics performance was another major requirement for the academy and AT Jones achieved this with the use of Ecophon acoustic rafts, suspended Armstrong ceilings and wall panels.

The fast track project is of high specification and required high levels of management and labour resource, careful programming and quality control.

This was achieved with AT Jones and Willmott Dixon working together as one unit.
