Atkins In Capital Recycling Win
City of Edinburgh Council has appointed Atkins to assist in boosting the capital's recycling rate.
As one of the country's leading waste management consultancies, Atkins has been awarded a contract to design six recycling centres in the city, including Seafield and at Old Dalkeith Road With Scottish offices in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Inverness and Aberdeen this latest win strengthens Atkins' reputation as one of the country's leading specialists in the planning and design of waste management facilities

Atkins to manage another Erskine care project
Atkins is continuing its long-standing relationship with Scottish charity Erskine, by providing project management expertise on a new Dementia Care Home.
The community recycling centres enable people to take household waste to modern designed facilities, encouraging the recycling of a wide range of materials, including paper, glass, engine oil, wood, garden waste, soils, plastic, metal and cans, helping Scotland to meet national recycling targets and reduce reliance on natural resources.
All six of the City of Edinburgh Council sites will feature educational displays informing the public of the performance of each > site and explaining the recycling process.
Site visitors will also be offered the chance to take away deposited items which have the potential to be re-used.
Peter Bruce, director of Atkins, Scotland said: "This win underlines Atkins' expertise in the planning, design and development of waste facilities.
We are delighted to be working with City of Edinburgh Council to help it achieve its aims to recycle a quarter of household waste by 2006." Mike Drewry, Director of Environmental and Consumer Services at City of Edinburgh Council said: "We are pleased by the appointment of Atkins to design the existing civic amenity sites such as those at Seafield and Old Dalkeith Road.
The development of these sites will further help and encourage the residents of the City of Edinburgh to recycle more.
This appointment is another element of our Waste Aware Edinburgh campaign." This latest contract win builds on the company's work providing recycling support to councils in Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Stirling.
