In order to avoid "major duplications and misunderstandings", JJB Sports plc, the UK's largest sports retailer, has been using the advanced online collaboration and project management service, Autodesk Buzzsaw for the design and construction of its fitness clubs By allowing project teams to create, share and manage digital design data, the Buzzsaw service enables JJB Sports to enhance efficiencies and maximise the benefits of consistencies across sites, even though each club has different architects, surveyors, engineers and construction teams

Multi-discipline construction company Eric Wright Construction select Autodesk Buzzsaw collaborative project management solution to help manage its portfolio of projects.
JJB Sports has implemented Buzzsaw as part of a strategy to grow its presence in the leisure facility market - and to do this as effectively and cost-efficiently as possible.
The Wigan-based company currently has 14 fitness clubs and three soccer centres, with five more clubs to be opened shortly and further in the pipeline.
Although there is no standard specification for the clubs - some are purpose-built, others have involved renovating existing buildings - there are many consistent design features and fittings.

Waterman Group expands its use of Autodesk Buzzsaw
To help it expand and grow, Waterman Group have implemented collaborative project management software, using Autodesk Buzzsaw via Autodesk reseller Excitech.
Buzzsaw not only improves communication among teams by ensuring everyone is working to the latest documents, it also maintains an electronic archive of all drawings used on a specific project.
This means subsequent teams can recreate drawings and specifications for future projects and these can also be used in later stages of the construction cycle such as building maintenance.
Tony Ellis JJB Sports project manager explained that Buzzsaw was recommended by an architect after the company had held a special workshop to discuss how they could make the design, procurement and construction processes more efficient.
"Time was being wasted by different members of the team creating information that already existed, he said.
"Now there's no need to reinvent the wheel, they can go immediately to the Buzzsaw site, find the drawing and specifications and recreate it.
Also, it's much easier to click onto a computer file and be assured you have the most current information." Buzzsaw was sold to JJB Sports by Hobs Reprographics plc.
Following Hobs' initial meeting with JJB Sports it was able to put a solution in place within a week, setting up a pilot scheme and training the users.
"JJB Sports has made a corporate commitment to Buzzsaw," said Adam Box of Hobs. Request a free brochure from Autodesk ...
