Construction boom demand for Autodesk
software

The race to get ahead of the competition is fuelling uptake of the solutions, which come in a number of specially-adapted versions that make designing and planning new housing projects faster and more cost-effective.

In May the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors said in its report on the construction market in the first quarter of this year, that industry growth had accelerated for the second consecutive quarter, extending the run of above average growth to nine consecutive quarters.

According to figures from the Chartered Institute for Purchasing and Supply, house-building grew more quickly in March this year than it has in any single month for the last two years.

Software and solutions suppliers are amongst those reaping the rewards of the increased activity.

Compared with the previous year, Datech 2000's sales of the Autodesk BSD solutions in the first quarter of the current financial year were up by 30%.

Autodesk Business Unit Manager at the company, Ian Briffett, says that the strength of the market is driving construction companies to seek out new ways in which they can gain a competitive edge.

"The competition to get new and more exciting properties ready for the market is obviously very strong now and there is no doubt that the Autodesk BSD range of solutions do give you a very real edge on rivals that do not have the same capabilities".
