BIM is the creation and use of co-ordinated, consistent and computable information about a building project.
Because this information is always totally current and readily available it is invaluable for design decision-making, the production of high-quality construction documents, predicting performance, cost-estimating and construction planning and, eventually, for managing and operating the facililty.
Levitt Bernstein has now begun to test Revit Series on a large mixed tenure housing project for London's South Bank, creating a single cohesive and co-ordinated 3D model holding all current data and drawings.
"I purposely chose a project where I knew the director would be objective," says Murdey-Green.
"However, although it's still too early to measure results, the feedback has been that Revit Series is performing even better than expected".
"It's been easy to learn and is enjoyable to use - in fact, the team is enthusiastic about the new software and the sceptics have been won over.
Now others are volunteering to try it on their projects".
