AutoCAD Revit means fast, flexible,
intuitive work

Award winning Inspiration Architects have invested in AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite software.

The Newbury-based practice is already using the software on live projects from concept design to building regulation drawings stage It reports Revit Architecture is helping teams to streamline processes, work faster and, importantly, ensure the original design intent is followed through into the technical development stages

The AutoCAD Revit Architecture Suite combines familiar AutoCAD capability with the benefits of Revit Architecture building information modelling (BIM) tools - enabling architects to protect legacy skills and data investments while moving to 3D design and BIM at their own pace.

Inspiration now joins over 150,000 architects worldwide who are using Revit software.

Director, Annika Hatchwell explains that when the firm wanted to move on from using AutoCAD LT it considered an entire range of solutions from Google SketchUp to Graphisoft's ArchiCAD.

"However, I could see that Revit Architecture's automatic co-ordination functionality would give us the flexibility and freedom to design concepts quickly and easily and then build on those early designs, enhancing data rather than recreating it," she says.

The practice has already used the software on two entirely different large projects; on the one hand a holiday complex in Turkey comprising around 250 villas and apartments , restaurants, spas and swimming pools - and on the other, the renovation of a local school.

"Because Revit Architecture enables users to sketch out ideas as they think - and then quickly render these concepts to bring them to life - we were able to communicate tangible ideas to clients comparatively early on in the design process on both these projects.

"This capability means we can also show planners a true representation of how a design will fit in with its surrounding environment which will be a powerful tool when it comes to planning applications," says Hatchwell.

"Even at this early stage we're seeing the benefits of our investment.

We can definitely design in a more intuitive and efficient way, eliminating whole stages of the design process and enabling us to quickly deliver our ideas to clients". Request a free brochure from Autodesk ...

Mike Jourdan of Autodesk reseller, Cadpoint says: "After attending our training sessions, Inspiration is really progressing well with Revit Architecture - and despite the learning curve, they are already working more efficiently and effectively.".
