AUGI Design Academy aims to hone competitive edge
Following on from last year's highly successful inaugural event, Autodesk User Group International (AUGI) is holding its second AUGI Design Academy.
This two-day training and networking conference for users of Autodesk 2D and 3D design software will take place at the Novotel London West, London from 25 to 26 September 2008.
The event is designed to help Autodesk users maximise their investment in the technology, discuss best practices and provide opportunities to learn from experts and others in their industry.
The intensive programme also features renowned global and local industry speakers such as Lynne Allen, US CAD columnist and a worldwide Autodesk technical evangelist, known for her extremely constructive and entertaining talks.
Other highlights include a complete spectrum of training sessions for built environment professionals from advice on how to improve return on investment in AutoCAD Architecture to creating project templates with Revit Architecture, Revit Structure and Revit MEP.
These range from the all-encompassing "Anything and Everything about Revit Structure" and "The Essential Guide to NavisWorks" to the more specific - "Designing Turning Heads in AutoCAD Civil 3D".
"Those working in architecture and the construction industry may well face a bumpier ride over the next year than they have had for a while".
"It's therefore vital that they differentiate themselves from the competition by boosting productivity, optimising existing investments and so designing better and more sustainable buildings," says Paul Oakley, Vice Chairman of AUGI.
"As an organisation, AUGI is dedicated to helping its members get the most from their design tools and drive their professional development".
"We believe that this programme of training combined with access to global experts - all within a rich networking environment - will provide both motivation and inspiration leading to increased creativity and innovation".
Alongside the architecture, engineering and construction industry sessions is a packed schedule of more general courses such as the "Hidden Secrets of AutoCAD Productivity" and "The CAD Manager's Action Plan".
In all the programme includes more than 50 classes aimed at all levels of proficiency.
