Autodesk and Aedas Sign BIM deal

An Autodesk product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jun 8, 2010

Autodesk has announced a building information modelling (BIM) partnership deal with the UK-based, global architectural practice Aedas.

Aedas has made the decision to adopt building information modelling (BIM) across its 15 European offices.

As a result, it has invested in 321 seats of Autodesk Revit Architecture Suite to be deployed across the region as part of a three-year agreement.

The deal follows extensive research and benchmarking by Aedas, working closely with the Autodesk major accounts team and the reseller partner, CADline.

Aedas has already used the software on a number of projects including a large and complex Building Schools for the Future (BSF) scheme at Knowsley, UK comprising seven new schools.

The results showed that Autodesk Revit Architecture suite could increase productivity by up to 50 per cent, and also ensure that data remained accurate and reliable throughout design phase of the project.

Seats of Autodesk 3ds Max and Autodesk Ecotect Analysis plus consultancy and training are also included in the agreement.

Aedas is a long-term user of Autodesk Ecotect Analysis.

Its RandD department has historically worked closely with Autodesk on the development of the software and on its integration with Revit.

This creates a seamless design and analysis process, enabling users to optimise energy efficiency and other environmental factors.
