Autodesk software enhances 3Dconnexion mice range

An Autodesk product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 27, 2010

3Dconnexion's full range of 3D mice is supported by three new media and entertainment applications including Autodesk Maya 2011, to offer enhanced precision and control.

The other two applications are Softimage 2011 and Adobe Photoshop CS5, bringing advanced 3D navigation and control to a range of digital artists and designers.

3Dconnexion 3D mice allow creative professionals to visualise and interact with their character animations, scenes and environments as if they were holding models in their hand or flying through the 3D environment, providing a more immersive and rewarding design experience.

3Dconnexion 3D mice allow digital artists to control camera views or navigate around scenes while simultaneously selecting, creating and editing a design.

3D mice provide a level of control that is unattainable with a traditional mouse and keyboard.

Superior navigation allows artists to simultaneously pan, zoom and rotate as if they are holding the model or camera in their hand.

Precise control is capable of detecting input as small as four micrometres, giving a level of control that is unattainable with a traditional mouse.

Improved efficiency is offered through programmable buttons which provide quick access to commonly used application commands, enabling users to better focus on their models.

Increased performance enables increased focus on characters, visual effects and models to aid in the detection of critical issues earlier in the design process, reducing change cycles and cost.

The entire 3Dconnexion product line is compatible with these applications, including the Professional Series with the Spacepilot PRO and Spaceexplorer, and the Standard Series with the Spacenavigator and Spacenavigator for Notebooks.
