Steadmans launches Meta-Slate dry verge

A Steadmans product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Jul 9, 2010

Steadmans has launched an innovative dry verge solution to complement Meta-Slate, its slate-effect metal roofing system.

Many tile effect lightweight metal roofing solutions are let down by poor detailing which can detract from the overall traditional effect.

In particular, the highly visible verge area is often finished using unsightly industrial style metal flashings.

To overcome this Steadmans has introduced a new low profile purpose made dry verge piece which maintains the traditional appearance of its slate-effect metal roofing panels.

The 300mm long interlocking verge sections are injection moulded in UV stabilised polypropylene material which is colour matched to the steel Meta-Slate sheeting.

The verge sections incorporate a polyethylene foam seal strip to prevent water ingress.

Weighing 6kg/m2, Meta-Slate roof panels require less substructure when compared to traditional slates and can be fitted onto both steel and timber roof structures.

To further enhance its flexibility the Meta-Slate system can be fitted directly to Steadmans AS35 insulated panels to create Meta-Slate plus for warm roof applications.
