Integrated construction consultancy Avebury has been shortlisted for a top prize at a leading construction industry awards ceremony.

Integrated construction consultancy Avebury has been shortlisted for a top prize at a leading construction industry awards ceremony.

Avebury is among the finalists in the WRAP Award for Sustainable Construction category at the 2007 Building awards, for its work with William Sutton in Bow Road, London, the only affordable housing project on the shortlist.

The category was added to the prestigious awards in 2007 to recognise and reward those UK construction businesses at the forefront of sustainability best practice.

Other shortlisted organisations include Bovis Lend Lease and Taylor Woodrow.

The Bow Road redevelopment, in the East End, used Avebury's integrated services to deliver risk management, architecture, construction and project management.

Combined with an environmentally-efficient modern method of construction (MMC) solution, WAVE, the results have been reduced build costs, reduced CO2 emissions and improved long term sustainability for a mixed use development on the site of a former car showroom.

The winner will be announced on 18 April.
