Welfare One Stop Shop opt for the Bauder extensive sedum roof to keep impact on the environment to a minimum whilst still making a visual statement.

Ashington Hirst Welfare One Stop Shop Ashington is the first phase of a regeneration programme that is dedicated to providing everyday amenities such as libraries and sport facilities to the local community The Architect, namely Ged McCormack, wanted to find a roofing solution suitable for the shape of the building, with mono-pitched roofs connected to single storey blocks to create a major part of the overall design

Constructed on a site that had always been grass, it only seemed fitting to opt for the Bauder extensive sedum roof to keep impact on the environment to a minimum whilst still making a visual statement.

The use of the single ply system was the preferred aesthetic solution to the steep pitched south facing hall roof which houses an array of photovoltaic and water solar collector panels.

When combined, the extensive and single ply systems provide one of the most environmentally friendly waterproofing solutions available on today's market.
