The Bauder Total Roof System, one of the most respected and best selling roofing solutions, has undergone a complete appraisal.

Today's construction industry is becoming more and more demanding Fast track solutions without compromising quality and better working conditions for the industry's workforce are no longer sought out but are expected to come as standard

Yet, if you work too quickly to meet pressurising deadlines it is inevitable that an accident will occur at some time or another.

So, when working under such conditions it is only logical to minimise or avoid any situation that may cause such an event to happen.

In the roofing industry, hot bitumen, prepared on site in heated pots, is still widely used in the installation of flat roofing materials.

Applying this product with buckets, mops and watering cans is one of the main causes of accidents, as the risk of accidental spillage and subsequent burns is high.

Safety, along with speed and simplicity of installation, is the main reason why The Bauder Total Roof System, one of the most respected and best selling roofing solutions, has undergone a complete appraisal.

Since its launch in the UK, some 14 years ago, it has been responsible for nearly 2,000,000m2 of roofing in this country.

Although no claims have ever been made against the 20-year insurance backed guarantee issued on completion of each project, Bauder strongly felt that it was time to turn their attention to the elimination of hot bitumen, minimal naked flame usage and maximum speed and efficiency.

The result is not a system that was developed overnight.

To encompass the perfect balance of the industry's demands takes years of research prior.

At Bauder, Germany, this is exactly what has been happening, and here in the UK we are about to reap the benefits with the launch of a tried and tested formula that has already been successfully laid on the Continent, and is brought to us as an up to date roofing solution, fusing 21st century demands with 21st century product technology.

So how does the new system work? The first layer to undergo scrutiny was the Vapour Barrier.

This has a self-adhesive elastomeric bitumen underside with a peel-off release film.

This eliminates the need to apply a naked flame to the deck, as is the case with widely used torch-applied vapour barriers.

Its 'striped' top surface incorporates the bonding bitumen for the insulation, and is simply torch-activated.

The product also features patented colour coded 'DUO' lap technology to allow the laps to be sealed thoroughly, ensuring waterproofing integrity.

The technically advanced aluminium faced, rigid PIR flatboard Insulation, ensures unrivalled thermal efficiency and provides a superior bonding surface for self-adhesive membranes.

The 10cm grid pattern printed on the top surface aids on-site cutting, making life a lot simpler for the Bauder Approved Installer.

The Underlayer now offers a self-adhesive elastomeric bitumen underside that has the exacting technology as that of the Vapour Barrier.

Its peel-off release film allows for fine adjustments to be made easily and with minimum effort before being finally secured into its correct place.

This product also features the same 'DUO' lap technology as the vapour barrier.

Finally, the Capping Sheet now comes in a greater variety of colours, and uses a new fire retardant in the bitumen mixture to provide unbeatable external fire protection.

Bauder believes in investing in tomorrow, and as a family company, we recognise the importance of everybody who works with us.

We are extremely proud to be able to offer this roofing solution, which offers a safer and cleaner working environment, whilst still being able to offer the end client the exacting standards associated with the Bauder name.
