Bauder has recently achieved BBA certificates for its two latest roofing systems, Bauder Bakor 790-11EV Hot Melt Monolithic Membrane and the Bauder Thermofol PVC single ply waterproofing system.

The Bauder Bakor 790-11 EV Hot Melt Monolithic Membrane is the first environmentally structural waterproofing system to gain a BBA certificate and contains at least 25% post-consumer recycled content.

It is manufactured from a unique blend of selected bitumens, synthetic rubber and mineral stabilisers and modified to promote adhesion and improve low temperature flexibility.

The system is ideal for green roofs, terraces, car parks, podiums, plazas and substructures and is delivered to site in recyclable cardboard boxes as opposed to metal barrels Installation comprises two 3mm layers sandwiching a reinforcing layer, making Bakor a very robust, flexible, monolithic waterproofing system that remains "live" so that any minor penetrations and cuts will self heal.

The second Bauder system to attain a BBA certificate is the Bauder Thermofol PVC Single Ply System.

This 1.5mm polyester reinforced membrane provides a versatile, fast track, flame free roofing solution which is ideal for large roof areas.

It is fully resistant to UV damage as the light grey and blue/grey surface colours are highly solar reflective with a high tensile strength that makes it is particularly resistant to tears and punctures.

Thermofol membranes can be installed using either mechanical fixings or adhesive bonding.

Both options are usually installed using hot air welding techniques at the seams, where the sheets are fused together through hot air welding to create a totally secure homogenous layer.

BBA Agrement Certificates have been providing information on the performance of building products over the past 35 years.

Each individual certificate contains data on durability, installation and compliance with Building Regulations for England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Each product is assessed in three distinct areas; laboratory-testing which is carried out to UKAS requirements, site inspections carried out by BBA's own inspection service team, and factory production control.

Both the Bakor and Thermofol systems underline Bauder's belief of investing in continual research and development to ensure every product and installation is well ahead of the industry standards, and that the needs of the environment are always kept in clear focus.
