Using only timber constructions, with a purely ecological, healthy living focus, Baufritz is launching in the UK to meet the increasing demand for eco friendly housing.

Baufritz, the multi-award winning German house builder is to launch its UK operation at the Grand Designs exhibition on 2nd June.

The ecological pioneer in timber house construction is to offer stunning, high quality, tailor made homes to customers from its new UK headquarters based in Cambridge.

Using only timber constructions, with a purely ecological, healthy living focus, Baufritz is making its venture into the UK to meet the increasing demand for eco friendly housing.

To realise its vision in the UK, Baufritz is working closely with the architectural division of top Cambridge design consultancy, Breathe.

Together they are bringing the 'German style of house building' to the front of the UK market.

Already established as one of the leading timber builders in Germany, Baufritz creates individually designed houses that offer more than simply a 'roof over the occupants head'.

The philosophy of the company is that a home should offer an unrivalled level of comfort and luxury combined with an abundance of natural materials and a healthy room climate.

With a variety of designs from an exclusive city villa to a beautiful country home, a Baufritz house is built with the concepts of ecology and healthy living at its core.

Managing Director, Oliver Rehm will be heading up Baufritz's transition into the UK.

He says: "It is a very exciting time for Baufritz and we are delighted to be evolving into the UK.

It is our aim to provide a unique solution to the current self-build housing market frustrations which include fragmented and lengthy building processes".

"We feel this is an excellent opportunity having recognised the potential here".

"Environmental concerns amongst consumers are increasing".

"Many people suffer from allergies and respiratory difficulties and we expect that the desire to live in a natural house is likely to increase drastically among UK families in the future".

The Baufritz house building process is almost as simple as the concept.

The basic framework of each house is manufactured off site in just one day.

Once delivered to the location, the initial structure can be constructed in as little as two days.

The whole process from planning to completion can take just five months, approximately one third of the time it takes to build a traditional house from bricks and mortar.

Each home is made to the customer's individual specifications and therefore costs of a Baufritz home will vary accordingly.

The basic cost of a house starts from £250,000 and includes every aspect of the building process with the exception of the plot purchase, although Baufritz can assist customers with plot searches to ensure that their home is built on their ideal location.

The basic cost also covers all the planning consultancy, architects fees and utilities.
