50 per cent of the sales team is made up by females at Baggeridge Brick, the largest independent manufacturer of clay bricks and pavers.

Rudgwick-based brick manufacturer Baggeridge is supporting the news that working in the brick industry is becoming an increasingly popular choice of profession amongst females, following the news that Hollywood a-lister, Keira Knightly, recently admitted wanting to try her hand at brick laying! At the factory, a surprising 50 per cent of the sales team is made up by females, whose main focus is to promote the premium range of bricks manufactured at the facility

This statistic was unknown 20 years ago and just goes to show that there is a growing trend towards women wanting to enter male-dominated industries.

Mark Morris, sales director at Baggeridge is pleased that boundaries are being broken down in the brick industry between men and women.

He said: "At Baggeridge we have witnessed a slow but gradual trend towards more women entering this industry both on the managerial and manual side of the business, and this is something that we are actively encouraging".

Baggeridge is the largest independent manufacturer of clay bricks and pavers.

Each year the company produces in excess of 300 million bricks at its factories in Rudgwick, Kingsbury, Sedgley, Hartlebury and Waresley.
