Brick manufacturer, Baggeridge, has secured a prestigious order to supply its fast track cladding system, Corium, to the Paddington Academy in London.

Brick manufacturer, Baggeridge, has secured a prestigious order to supply its fast track cladding system, Corium, to the Paddington Academy in London.

The £138,000 order will see Baggeridge provide approximately 2,000 sq metres of a London stock look-a-like variant of its Corium product for the high-status project, which is set to be completed by September 2006.

The Paddington Academy is part of an important new resource initiative within the government's policy to regenerate secondary education.

The series of Academies will be publicly owned, independent co-educational secondary schools, operated by sponsors from the private, voluntary or charitable sector.

All places at the Paddington Academy will be free to all children from the local community aged between 11 and 18.

It will offer a high quality educational experience with state-of-the-art facilities for multi-ethnic and multi-faith education, specialising in Media and Performing Arts with Business and Enterprise.

Simon Hughes, Corium product manager, said: "The use of Corium at the Paddington Academy demonstrates our continued efforts to see the revolutionary product used at prestigious construction schemes throughout the country".

"The Academy is an exciting development and we are pleased to be playing a role in a project that will be of immense benefit to the local community".

The revolutionary Corium system comprises genuine brick tiles which have been specially designed to fix mechanically to a HPS200 steel backing section.

These are then installed in rows onto the backing structure and the tiles are mechanically fixed into place.

It's ideal for refurbishment and new projects as the cladding is light and can be fixed up to twenty storeys high, yet still maintains its strength and durability.
