Green thinking Interserve relocate to new offices

A Batchelor Electrical product story

Electrical design and build completed by leading office fit-out and shopfitting contractor Batchelor Electrical

Interserve Retail and Interiors are leading the way with their impressive new 'eco' offices and joinery factory in Dorset.

The national shopfitting and interior fit-out division of Interserve Plc has invested heavily into their new facilities and has given much thought into the building's green credentials.

The electrical design and build was completed by leading office fit-out and shopfitting contractor Batchelor Electrical and included extensive new works to lighting, small power, data, mains distribution and computer controlled access control.

The 40,000 square foot premises spanning a 1.89 acre site have been totally modernised to reduce its impact on the environment; from the solar-powered water heater and low-energy PIR controlled office lighting to the latest high-tech chipper and biomass burner.

"When we designed our new building we knew that recycling from the joinery workshop was an important consideration as this was previously collected by specialist outside carriers".

"However, by having an on-site chipper and bio-mass burner we have reduced the collections and been able to heat our factory at the same time by utilising the waste wood".

"Batchelor Electrical understood our vision for this building and worked with us from design through to completion".

Paul Tedore, Interserve Retail and Interiors Batchelor Electrical have been working with long standing client Interserve Retail and Interiors since 1993, assisting nationwide with hundreds of prestigious fit-out contracts including John Lewis, Thomas Cook, Fortnum and Masons and the redevelopment of Plymouth Naval Base.
