Miller, the fall arrest specialist brand from Bacou-Dalloz, has launched Ropax - a specialist rope access and rescue operations harness.

Miller, the fall arrest specialist brand from Bacou-Dalloz, has launched Ropax - a specialist rope access and rescue operations harness - designed to meet the demanding requirements of the telecoms and utilities sectors as well as rescue services and the armed forces.

Ropax has been developed in close co-operation with specialist technicians and professional end users from across Europe, with particular emphasis on optimising the wearer's safe working position.

The result is a harness which minimises wearer fatigue and the risks from suspension trauma, so the wearer can work longer, more safely and efficiently than ever before.

Key features of Ropax include:.

* new triangular suspension position splits the pressure across four points instead of two so force is distributed across the legs and belt instead of just on the legs.

* the optional Ergo Soft Pad protects the back and gives great freedom of movement.

* totally adjustable straps mean a comfortable fit for all and a new adjustable chest strap holds the worker tight in the harness to make climbing much easier.

* leg straps and an extra wide belt are reinforced with padding and a woven membrane for comfort and allow good air circulation.

* excellent abrasion and chemical resistance from the black polyester webbing combined with a polyamide interior for a comfortable texture in contact with the skin.

* simple, clear labelling system on different features - e.g "left" and "right" on the legs straps and "A" for anchorage point make kitting up quick and easy.

* three large tool holders make equipment access convenient and safe.

The Ropax harness has been developed to meet EN 361, EN813 and EN358 standards using materials to maximise the harness's life cycle, safety and wearer comfort.
