Basta Parsons range encompasses hundreds of products for windows

Almost fifty years ago Basta started making locks for Irish and Export markets.

Today, the range encompasses hundreds of products, including locks (obviously), stays and fasteners for timber windows, handles for timber doors, espagnolette handles and bolts for PVCu windows and doors, fittings for steel windows, hinges, handles, brackets, and much more! In recent years, the company has made three very successful acquisitions in Britain.

The first, in 1998, was Worcester Parsons, (a leading manufacturer of quality brass hinges) which it acquired from Ingersoll Rand/Newman Tonks.

Following on from this, in January 2001, Basta acquired the Latham business (who manufactured Gibbons locks and friction hinges under the Conqueror brand) from Frederick Cooper plc.

In August 2002, came the hardware fittings business from the administrators of Arthur Shaw Limited.

Shaw's which was put into administration, was one of the most prolific suppliers to the major Timber and PVC door and window manufacturers within the UK.

Basta has continued to provide a full range of the quality products from all of its acquisitions.

As well as the manufacturing facility in Ireland, the company also has a factory in Wolverhampton.

The brand portfolio is impressive - Basta for locks and handles, Worcester Parsons for brass hinges, Smith Wallis for steel window fittings, Conqueror for PVCu products and Shaws for stays and fasteners.

The company works to a very demanding product development programme.

The company's product portfolio was further strengthened by the addition of the Belair handle An exceptionally stylish handle, Belair is a breath of fresh air.

It has been widely complimented for its elegance and eye appeal.
