Balfour Beatty is the main contractor for the Eastern side of the 42-acre scheme on which GBP920 million is being spent on the retail-led mixed use regeneration of the city centre.

Balfour Beatty Construction is currently working on the Eastern side of the Liverpool Paradise Project for Grosvenor.

As part of its GBP111million design and build contract, Balfour Beatty is creating 15 buildings and over 50 new retail units in pedestrianised streets and lanes, 160 apartments and three commercial buildings, together with 550 parking spaces and the comprehensive refurbishment of other buildings, including Liverpool's oldest Grade 2 listed warehouse.

As well as Balfour Beatty Construction five other Balfour Beatty companies are working on the development namely Balfour Kilpatrick, Mansell, Balfour Beatty Civil Engineering, Birse and Stent.

The project will be completed during the city's European Capital of Culture Year 2008.
