Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering safety record

A Balfour Beatty product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Nov 28, 2007

Balfour Beatty Ground Engineering's Plant Department recently recognised for very impressive Health and Safety record of zero HSE reportable accidents for one million man hours worked.

The last reported incident was recorded way back in 1998, despite a growing workforce that has doubled in size during this period.

The entire workforce have worked hard to meet this achievement - from the fitters, electricians, welders, plant operatives, and labourers out on site to the office staff and managers and supervisors who have put the control measures in place and ensured they are followed.

BBGE Plant Director Chris Whalley said: "This is a commendable achievement and a tribute to everyone at BBGE's Plant department from our youngest apprentice who has been with the company for 6 weeks to our longest serving foreman fitter who has 36 years with the BBGE group; everyone has contributed to this success".

"Here's to the next million!".
