Landmark bridge across the river Cam

A Balfour Beatty product story
Edited by the Buildingtalk editorial team Dec 18, 2007

Balfour Beatty Regional Civils has successfully lifted into place the decks of the landmark new foot and cycle bridge to link Riverside with Chesterton for Cambridge County Council.

As the 200 metre long bridge turns through 90 degrees to pass over the River Cam the deck divides to allow a dramatic steel arch which supports six steel hangers which in turn cradle the two decks.

The project is within the Cambridge Transport Projects Partnership Framework Contract to produce the best engineering solutions within budget.
